TOBYS NEWS

TOBYS have managed to avoid ANY flooding during the last couple of months, due mainly to the Victorians who had the foresight to build our station about 2 feet higher than the surrounding flood plain, the access road from the roundabout was under about 1 foot of water at the worst time, but was always passable with care. We have never seen the surrounding waters so high though.

The place has been, and will be a bit of a mess for the next couple of months, but our customers seem to like it! The changes are all part of a bigger scheme that involves restoring the listed station masters house in 2013.

At TOBYS we have developed a new showroom in our former workshop, which will give us more display space for our stock. This opened on 6th December. "TOBY" our 1923 Model T Ford delivery van, has his eye on taking up residence in the new showroom, as it will be centrally heated.

Mind you if I was 90 years old, I wouldn't want to be in a cold garage all winter either!
